PICTON Bowling Club has been recognised as the one of the top 30 fund-raisers for this year's World's Greatest Shave.

Last week the club was invited to North Sydney for the Greatest Shave awards night where it was placed 14th in the club industry section from NSW and the ACT.

Club general manager Debbie Egan said it had worked hard in March to raise more than $6000 for the Leukaemia Foundation with the help of hairdressers from Attitude Hair and Beauty in Thirlmere.

``I believe everyone has been touched in some way by some form of cancer or leukaemia,'' Mrs Egan said. ``The support which we received from the community was outstanding.

``I would like to thank Frank, Kay Bell and Renai McNamara from the Picton Bowling Club for all their hard work.''

``We look forward to holding the next World's Greatest Shave on March 13, 2009,'' she said.

``Any local business that would like to help us raise money can contact me at the bowling club on 46771578.''
