Farmers to gather at sixth annual expo

HOBBY, niche and would-be farmers from across the state will gather in Sydney's outskirts next month for the annual Farming Small Areas Expo. The expo will educate on livestock breeds, show the latest in farm technology and feature a range of demonstrations. The sixth annual expo will take place at Hawkesbury Showground, Clarendon, on November 7 and 8.

Run by The Land newspaper, sponsored by NSW Department of Primary Industries and supported by Telstra the event attracts between 10,000 and 12,500 visitors annually. The Land's Guy Rowlison said the expo would feature a range of trade sites showing a variety of goods including machinery, livestock, aquaculture, hydroponics, crafts and food. Hours: 9am to 4pm. Entry: $2 or a carload for $5 with under 12s free if accompanied by a paying adult.
