A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition put together by local women will be on display at the Wollondilly Health Centre from this Thursday, August28.
The exhibition, A Wonderful Time of Life, displays positive images of older women in Wollondilly.
The project was a partnership between the Wollondilly Older Women's Network, Sydney South-West Area Health Service and the Benevolent Society.
Wollondilly Health Centre women's health nurse Jacqui Soccio said the project presented images of older women in their current and previous lives, as working women, mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.
``Often older women can feel overlooked, with the broader community being unaware of the knowledge and life experience that these women can offer,'' she said.
``We're hoping to demonstrate the resilience and strength of this group who, through the Older Women's Network, have formed a supportive caring and network.''
A spokeswoman from the local health service said Wollondilly Shire Council donated $1000 towards the exhibition.
``A narrative accompanies the photos and presents the women's thoughts on modern life, living in the shire and ideas about wellness.''
The exhibition will be launched at Wollondilly Health Centre on Thursday, August 28, and will run until Christmas.
