LAST week a group of girls went camping in Silverdale.
The Girl Guides NSW ACT movement held the Jamboree 2008 camp a nine-day camp for members aged 10 to 18.
``The camps are great opportunities for girls to develop skills in leadership, teamwork and self-confidence while having a wonderful time,'' said Simone Marshall, the camp's co-ordinator.
The camps are held every two years and are filled with activities such as canoeing, sailing, ``amazing'' race-style adventures and, for the more senior girls, the chance to learn how to fly planes.
Simone said this nine-day adventure was a fun, full-on camping experience with outdoor cooking and no mobile phones.
