Oversexed man-eater

THE Picton Theatre Group's new play will present the Australian premiere of the comedy/farce Sin, Sex & the CIA in Wollondilly Shire Hall on Saturday, November 8.

Theatre group secretary Stephen Gummerson of Thirlmere plays CIA agent Luke James, who he says is ``hopeless''.

``As a secret agent, Luke is so appallingly bad you just have to laugh and pity the people he tries to help,'' he said.

Joining Luke are a macho US marine, a State Department woman who is a ``completely oversexed man-eater,'' and a so-called ``reverend'' who ``has more fibre in his cereal than in his character''.

Gummerson says the play is a bunch of laughs with ``a bit of romance and lots of screw-ups no swearing, no nudity, but a lot of suggestions.''

The volunteer group rehearse twice a week.

Gummerson joined three years ago.

``I first started when I saw an audition notice for Cosi,'' he said. ``You have to get something out of it to enjoy it.''

The Picton Theatre Group always welcomes anyone who would like to help.

``We are all volunteers and we're always looking for new members,'' Gummerson said.

``You don't even need to go on stage as there are plenty of ways to help behind the scenes.''

Anyone with carpentry skills is wanted and is asked to contact the group on 46778313.

Sin, Sex & the CIA opens on Saturday, November 8. There will be six shows until November 29 and 2pm matinee shows on November 8 and 29 for $15, concession $8. Two-course gourmet buffet dinner for 6.30pm shows are $42, concession $33.
