Tasty vacation vocation

THE school holidays are here and a great vacation occupation is eating pink cupcakes to raise dough for charity.

Last week, photographer Jonathan Ng spotted the Montalto family doing just that at Michel's Patisserie in Picton.

Throughout October, both the Picton and Tahmoor stores will donate 30 cents from the sale of every Pink Ribbon Cupcake to the National Australian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The foundation is the only national non-profit organisation funding research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.

The owner of the Picton store, Coral McGuire, said this was a very good way to support people who were going through tough times.

``This is a partnership between Michel's and the community to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation,'' she said. ``And it's not just for individuals, company's can order cupcakes and do their bit to help, too. Through our organisation we want to encourage everyone to get behind this worthy cause.''

Last year Michel's Patisserie sold more than 170,000 cupcakes for the foundation.

It hopes to raise $75,000 this year for breast cancer research.

To buy a cupcake, go to Michel's Patisserie at Picton Mall or Tahmoor Town Centre.
