IT'S been a big climax to the Macarthur District Soccer Football Association season for Burragorang Soccer Club, especially the under 13s team.
One of the club's most capable and consistent teams, the under 13s backed up last year's grand final win by recently defending their title at Ron Dine Oval.
They beat Ingleburn 3-0, under the guidance of manager John Lee and coach Rod Ciantar, who said his team was comprised of youngsters from Burragorang and surrounding villages.
``The spirit among the team is fantastic,'' he said.
``They're just a great bunch of kids and we're just so proud of their efforts.
``Most of them will probably play soccer in the summer to keep fit and hopefully we'll come back next year and win again in the under 14s, but it will be harder. This year they just gelled together.
``They're not a team with brilliant individuals but play really well as a team and playing well as a team will beat individual brilliance any day.''
The small soccer club's success continues to promote the game with many great performances being seen on their home ground at Willis Park, Oakdale.
The under 13s team's record on the pitch speaks for itself with 172 goals scored and only 14 conceded over the past two seasons.
Burragorang's under 11s division two team also won their grand final, beating Eschol Park 2-0.
