OAKDALE downed Picton 36-16 in the Group 6 Country Rugby League first grade competition on Sunday at Victoria Park.

The Workers got off to a flier and were leading 22-0 at half-time.

Picton rallied in the second half but two tries to Oakdale's Luke Barron and Matt McCauley put the result beyond doubt.

Two players, Picton's Nathan Sutton and Oakdale's Bart Masters, were sent off in the second half for using bad language.

Referees are cracking down on bad language in an effort to stop players upsetting spectators with foul language.

Oakdale's best were David Lowe, Luke Barron and Ron Jones, while in the Picton team, Heath Browne, Darren Nolan and Rob Chauvet stood out.

Moss Vale had a 46-26 win against Camden.

The Dragons were ahead 30-16 at half-time but Camden cut the deficit to 30-26 in the second half before three tries in the last 10 minutes saw Moss Vale secure the competition points.

Moss Vale's best were Josh Saunders, Jon Cresswell and Daniel Drew. Neil Begovitch, Sam Campbell and Chris Corby were Camden's best.

Thirlmere picked up two easy points when Narellan forfeited on the day because of a shortage of players.

Sunday's first grades at 2.30pm will feature Narellan taking on Camden at Narellan Sportsground, Oakdale hosting Moss Vale at Sid Sharpe Memorial Oval and Picton at home against Thirlmere/Tahmoor at Victoria Park.

Cunningham tips: Camden by 10 points, Oakdale by 6 and Thirlmere by 8.
